Open Board Seat — City of Jackson Appointee

The Jackson Area Transportation Authority (JATA) invites applications for an open seat on its nine-member Board of Directors. This position is a City of Jackson appointee, and appointment is subject to approval by the Mayor and the Jackson City Commission.

About the Board
The JATA Board oversees executive management and guides policy direction. Its membership includes representatives from Summit Township, Blackman Township, Leoni Township, Jackson County, and three representatives appointed by the City of Jackson. The current vacancy is for one of the City appointee positions.

Responsibilities of a Board Member

  • Participate in regular Board meetings
  • Review and approve policies, budgets, and organizational plans
  • Provide oversight and ensure JATA’s services remain safe, reliable, and efficient
  • Serve as an advocate for public transportation in the community
