The Jackson Area Transportation Authority is proud to announce Cook Foundation & Flatwork is set to begin a much needed upgrade to our Downtown Jackson Transfer Center parking lot. Cook Foundation & Flatwork was awarded the contract after a nation-wide bid process. The project drew interest from as far away as Florida and Colorado.
Beginning on Thursday, August 31st, all buses will depart and arrive on the West side of the building as crews work to remove and replace the concrete driveway and sidewalks on the East side of the building.
“Prioritizing rider safety above all, we’re excited to begin the renewal of our Downtown Jackson Transfer Center parking lot,” said Michael Brown, Executive Director of the Jackson Area Transportation Authority. “By upgrading our parking, drive lanes, and sidewalks, we’re reinforcing our commitment to safe and convenient transportation. This transformation reflects our commitment to both modernizing our infrastructure and serving our community.”
The Jackson Area Transportation Authority is dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and accessible transportation services to the residents of Jackson County.
