JATA Privacy Policy
At Jackson Area Transportation Authority (JATA), we are committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of our employees, passengers, job applications, and partners. This policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard data in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
JATA may collect personal information such as employee and applicant contact details, employment history, payroll and benefits data, passenger information including trip history and accessibility needs (for paratransit services), as well as data received from third-party vendors that support HR, scheduling, and payment systems.
We use this information to provide safe and efficient transit services, manage HR records, process payroll, improve operations, share service updates, and meet legal and safety requirements. JATA does not sell personal information. However, we may share data with government agencies such as FTA and MDOT for compliance purposes, with trusted third-party service providers bound by data protection agreements, or with legal authorities when required.
